A phone number and a website that put you in touch with an independent water damage or mold contractor in your part of Miami-Dade, in English or Spanish, on the day it happens.
What we are
Miami Water Damage Response is a referral line. When you call the number on this site or send the request form, we pass your information to an independent, locally based water damage or mold contractor who serves your area, and they contact you to set the visit. From that point on you deal with the contractor directly.
We built it because the day water gets into a house is the worst day to be researching contractors: the good ones are booked after a storm, the rules on mold and insurance in Florida are specific, and the wrong first moves cost real money. The pages here exist to give you the right first moves and the rules, before anyone arrives.
What we are not
We are not a restoration contractor and we do not employ technicians. We do not perform or supervise work, set or quote prices, collect payment, or provide a warranty. We are not insurance adjusters, public adjusters, or attorneys, and we do not give advice about insurance claims. The contractor is responsible for their licenses, certifications, insurance, workmanship, and pricing. If something goes wrong with a job, the contractor is who you call, and the Florida DBPR is who you complain to.
How the contractors are chosen
Contractors who take calls from this line work in Miami-Dade, do residential water damage or mold work, and serve Spanish-speaking homeowners as well as English-speaking ones. We do not verify licenses or insurance on your behalf; you should. For mold work over 10 square feet, ask for the assessor’s MRSA number and the remediator’s MRSR number and check them on MyFloridaLicense.com; Florida requires those to be different companies. Ask for IICRC certification (WRT for water, AMRT for mold) and proof of liability insurance before work begins.
